At a first glance, it appears that there's nothing really special about this 458 Italia other than it's a new Ferrari and that it's covered in dark grey vinyl wrap. However, take a closer look and things start to get interesting

The Ferrari 458 was designed to drive at high speeds. Nearly everything about the car is fine-tuned to provide ultimate power and precision handling at any capable speed. Even the body of the car was thought up with speed in mind. The styling features were designed specifically for aerodynamic efficiency and producing a substantial down-force.

The new Ferrari FF replaces the 612 Scaglietti in Ferrari's range

The first thing that you should do is get an O.K. to walk from your health care provider. That is simple, but when you are doing any activity at all, you are doing a physical activity and need an O.K. to do it. He'll tell you how far and how fast you should walk, or maybe he wants you to have a test. Simple things like that are very important.

The new FF replaces the 612 Scaglietti in Ferrari's range, and is powered by a 660HP-strong V12. It will be unwrapped at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show in the beginning of March.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is the top of the line, high performance luxury car with all the comfort and luxury Ferrari could pack into the Spaghetti's 116.1 inch wheelbase. Power and performance is no problem with the Ferrari 612. Powered by the 5.7 liter Ferrari Dino Tipo F116B, V12 engine, producing an amazing 530hp and a top speed of 196mph.

The 12 cylinders have written pages in Ferrari's sporting and commercial history and represent the number that Enzo Ferrari wanted for the first official Ferrari in history, the 125.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is Ferrari's four seat, two door coupe Grand Tourer. Made for long road trips, while still designed for stylish good looks and packed full of the high performance you would expect from Ferrari.

However, more than any of its predecessor, this really is the ultimate 2+2, a true four-seater. The 599 GTB Fiorano pays tribute to the company's famous Fiorano test track. The numerical "599" refers to the 5999cc engine, which is derived from the astonishing unit fitted in the Ferrari Enzo. This new generation 65deg V12 engine boasts many features that have reduced its weight, size and centre of gravity. The mid-front engine car has a 200mph top speed and a 0-62 mph acceleration time of a remarkable 3.7 secs. All these plus a spacious leather-clad cabin and excellent luggage space, too.

The gearbox is either a manual 6 speed transmission, or the 6 speed F1a semi-automatic transmission, with the paddle shift system which is attached to the steering column and accessed easily as it is located just behind the steering wheel.

The 612 Scaglietti was the first V12 Ferrari to feature an aluminum chassis and body unit, and with the engine mounted completely behind the front axle it has an optimum 46/54 front/rear weight distribution. The 612 is also the first Ferrari to benefit from the Atelier Personalization Programme, which provides clients with a wide choice of options to create a true one-off. The 612 Scaglietti embodies the series production of 2+2 Ferraris which started with the 250 GT in 1960 and was followed by the 330, 365, 400, 412 and 456 series.

The first thing that is noticeable about the Ferrari 458 Italia when you first catch a glimpse of one is that it is a much bolder, different design over the F430 than the F430 was over the 360 Modena. There are one or two design homages paid too, especially from the likes of the Enzo and the simply stunning one off Pininfarina designed P4/5.

Ferrari has been busy in recent years with various models. The 458 was more or less to allow Ferrari to get back to their powerhouse roots after the California. The design of the car did mirror some of the best features of the Enzo in terms of practicality, but the 458 is a design all its own and a car the likes of which Ferrari has never produced.

Unlike Ferrari models of the past, this new design wasn't really based on any old design of street model car, per se. Instead, Ferrari used their experience with Formula 1 racing and new technologies and designs to piece together the 458. The results speak for themselves.

For the first time in a Ferrari's track-only model, the 458 Challenge is also equipped with the E-Diff electronic differential, which is already employed on the road-car version.

The 458 Italia came along to replace the Ferrari F430. Not that the F430 was obsolete or a lesser car by any stretch of the imagination. It's just common practice with a lot of automakers to bring in the new to get out with the old.

Direct-injected 4,497 cc V8 remains the same (558 hp at 9,000 rpm), but the seven-speed gearbox dual-clutch uses different ratios and a new calibration in order to optimize track performance. The interior is reduced to the essentials in the 458 Italia Challenge. Ferrari engineered the 458 Challenge to expose drivers to even higher performance limits and the proof is in the car performance. The 458 Challenge lapped the Fiorano race track in 1:16.5 during testing, which just two-tenths of a second behind the FXX and two seconds faster than its predecessor and track-mate, the F430 Challenge.

The Ferrari 599 GTO boasts a sophisticated technological set-up that delivers unprecedented performance and overtakes, in terms of lap times, the Ferrari Enzo itself. Just as the GTO from the 60s, the newest GTO is astonishing due to its superiority on the road and at the track. Its 6.0 liter, V12 engine produces 670 hp at 8500 rpm and sets the timer to blow past the 0-62 mph in a grin-inducing 3.4 seconds. Only 599 GTO will be produced, each wearing a numbered plate reading "one of 599". There are custom colors and two-tone paint finishes exclusively for the 599 GTO. Carbon fiber is in evidence throughout, including in the cockpit where it is used to reduce weight and as a design element thanks to its non-reflective matt finish conveying a racing touch. The last F1 transmission allows to switch gears in a lightning-quick 60 milliseconds and gear ratios are 6-percent shorter than the GTB's.

The title alone seems absolutely ridiculous doesn't it?I mean seriously, who would own a Ferrari and drive around in first or second gear for the life of the car? You might say,"I don't even like Ferraris". But it doesn't matter. Whatever your dream car is, if you had one, you'd try to get your money's worth. So why do so many people go through life stuck in first gear?
As human beings, each and every one of us have so much to offer and almost unlimited potential. Compared to a Ferrari, the human mind and body is more like a Space Shuttle!

Everyone has the ability to reach the stars, to go where nobody has been and to do what no-one has done. But for some reason, millions before us and millions more in the future will just cruise through life in first or second gear. And I've seen more than I care to witness, barely put the key in the ignition, let alone get out of neutral!
