In terms of safety equipment the Compass is equipped with dual front airbags and side curtain airbags, ABS complete with off-road calibration, ESP with yaw sensors, traction control with brake assist and electronic roll mitigation. All of the 18 inch alloys are connected to a standard tire pressure monitor. The Compass will also have the MacPherson strut and multi link arrangement that is a first for any Jeep vehicle.

Just because you like two different things is never reason enough to combine them and assume the best. All of which leads me neatly into the muddy and treacherous world of the 4 x 4. Designed to eat mountains for breakfast, the original premise of a 4 x 4 was to be an off-roader and before you knew it manufacturers were sticking large wheels and huge ground clearance beneath their cars. Then one day a boffin decided it'd be a good idea to combine the everyday drivability of a car with the go anywhere, no nonsense versatility of a 4 x 4.

Unfortunately this meant that the market was flooded with vehicles that were sufficiently altered and were therefore useless off road as they weren't high enough, and rubbish on the road as they weren't low enough. Even more unfortunately unlike Audioslave, Coke lime and XFL, no-one seems to have noticed the bad idea and the roads crawl with haphazard handling brutes

It can be recalled that Compass was introduced at the 2006 North American International Auto Show last January. Four months after, the first Compass was produced. The latest from Jeep along with Patriot (both based on the DaimlerChrysler/Mitsubishi GS platform), replaced Liberty as the automaker's entry level SUV. Compass is designed as a sporty hot hatch crossover while Patriot is intended to take the traditional wagon appeal.

Compass is the first crossover SUV from Jeep. It has a 172 hp (128 kW) 2.4 L GEMA I4 gasoline engine. Additionally, the car features an electronically-controlled all wheel drive system. The latter is capable of managing torque between speeds of 25 and 65 mph. In the Unite States, said vehicle model has a base price of $15,985.

The 2010 Jeep Compass offers Jeep's famous rugged nature and good looks, both of which are backed up by a competent 2360 cc (2.4 L) inline-4. The engine itself is the byproduct of a global alliance of automobile manufacturers who wanted to build affordable yet powerful inline-4 cylinder motors to power a variety of vehicles, such as the Jeep Compass. This marks the second time in recent history that Jeep has adapted a non-trail rated power plant for use in a vehicle that carriers the brand's name, but the 2.4 L Global Engine is more than up to the task of powering either the 4x2 or 4x4 Jeep Compass.

Capable of producing 172 horsepower at 6000 rpm and delivering a peak toque rating of 162 foot pounds at 4400 rpm, the Global Engine found in the 2010 Jeep Compass does require a lot of revving to get the most out of it. Most Jeeps are famous for their easy driving nature, which makes the rev-happy Global Engine found in the Compass a little harder for some to get used to, especially if they plan on doing any off-road traveling. Customers who do take the time to learn how to shift manually will discover that the power band offered by the 2.4 L Global Engine is quite broad, ranging from around 3100 rpm to nearly 5000 rpm before the torque begins to fall off perceptibly.

Electric vehicles are no longer a thing of futuristic sci-fi movies. The new Chrysler ENVI combines sleek design with electric performance that offers clean, economical solutions to transportation. The ENVI vehicles are slated to hit the market in 2010, just before they head over to Europe.
ENVI has a number of vehicles in its lineup - including fuel-less electric vehicles and fuel efficient range-extended electric vehicles. These vehicles are not only going to be Chrysler models, but also Dodge and Jeep models as well, ensuring that no matter what kind of car you're looking for, you'll find it in a fuel-efficient version as well.

The biggest change for Chrysler is that the automaker has very few new models on tap and if it wasn't for its budding relationship with Fiat, the company would have nothing new available after 2012. But, thanks to its connection with Fiat, a number of future Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models will share platforms, components and other parts with Fiat Group cars, giving these three brands a new lease on life.

Just don't look for an electric vehicle in the mix because now that the ENVI show has ended, Chrysler and Fiat will be hard pressed to develop a few hybrids let alone full electric models.

Incorporating what Chrysler has appropriately titled the "Freedom II" package, the Patriot features enhancements that include an additional inch of ride-height over previous models as well as a 27.5-degree approach, a 23-degree brakeover and a 31.4-degree departure angle. With a solid brake system, reduced body roll and the steering decently weighted, the Freedom II package also includes its own continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a ground-hugging 19:1 low ratio for crawling over rocks, stream beds and other uneven surfaces. In addition, the Freedom II comes equipped with genuine Jeep parts that include fog lights, tow hooks, 17-inch all-terrain tires and a full-size spare with an air filtration system.

The Jeep Patriot is a great off-road capable vehicle for the price and gets good highway mileage as well. It averages near 28 to 29 mpg, which is about the best for the low priced off-road 4x4 SUV's. The standard model comes with 17-inch all-terrain tires, a full-size spare tire, skid plates, tow hooks, and fog lamps.

The words "Jeep" and "off-road" go together like sand dunes and Hi-Lift winches. And, with the improvements made to the new 2010 Jeep Patriot, its reputation for handling mud, hills and mountain streams shows no sign of slacking off.

Bottom line - the Jeep Patriot has been designed for customers that are looking for year-round versatility and good fuel economy, but want four-wheel-drive capability and a low purchase price. The Patriot's interior is up-to-date and the exterior is classic Jeep. You can find smoother rides, better seating, and more comfort, but you will have to pay for it. If you are not planning to spend much time off the beaten path, this might not be the optimum vehicle for you. But with its legendary Jeep off-road capability, the Patriot offers a combination of freedom, fun, and utility.

More so, the mechanical underpinnings adopted from Jeep patriot and Dodge Caliber take away that feel of freshness from the 2010 Compass. There are a couple of engine versions provided in the new Compass - a small 2 liter four cylinder giving 158hp and a 2.4 liter engine giving 172 hp. On highways, the vehicle's fuel economy is 11mpg, in a small engine configuration that works in tandem with the 5 speed manual transmission. And, the CVT is optional on the both the versions.

The power sunroof allows for fresh air when the weather is good, without having to open a window. The sunroof features a tilt and slide motion with a vent and it opens with the simple touch of a button. If you do not want this feature on your Jeep Compass, you can just say so as you have the option of with or without. Convenience now has a whole new meaning!

We all know how annoying it is when you get a flat tire while you are driving. This always seems to happen when you are in a hurry and you have no spare with you because you have no space in your car to accommodate one. This is why the Jeep Compass has an allocated space in the floor of the car, underneath a removable panel. So the tire will be hidden, but you know where to find it should you need it. So there's no more waiting on that person to bring you a tire in order for you to get back on the road, just pop it on and you're A for away!

However, in expanding the target market of the automaker, some Jeep purists are expressing their dissent. They think that the brand has gone too soft than expected. "Everybody is worried that Jeep will lose their name," said Cefali, vice president of the Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association and also a Jeep consumer. "I would hate to see Jeep not being on the foreground of off-roading."

The platform divides the jeep compass with the Dodge Caliber. But the SUV drives itself clearly more sportily than the ultrakomfortable compact car. The taut, over-hard chassis tuning compass and the exact steering element do not promote the driving fun lastingly. The again developed, standard permanent all-wheel drive makes an important contribution to the good handling characteristics. Freedom drive I "grumbles itself the system. Under normal conditions the compass drives spritsparend as Fronttriebler, if necessary connects the rear axle automatically. The electronic clutch is interlaced with the
Fahrassistenzsystemen ESP and ABS.

The thing with the price is easy: The compass starts with 23.990 euro and costs thereby achievement as well as equipment actually less than the counterparts of Toyota, Honda and Hyundai. Because already the basis model has a 2,4-Liter-Vierzylinder-Benziner with 170 HP under the hood, in series a permanent all-wheel drive and good equipment (extensive safety package, CD radio, nebula lights and 17-Zoll-Räder). In addition there is the traditional Rundumsorglos package, which contains four years long all repair, service and maintenance cost inclusive wearing parts.

Jeep's Uconnect system has four different avenues in which a driver can specialize to their vehicle, depending upon their needs. Uconnect offers a multimedia Sirius Satellite radio, navigation system, phone, or vocally operated, system, and a web option. Jeep won a Good Housekeeping VIP, or Very Innovative Products, Award in 2009 for this feature. It is features like these that keep Jeep vehicles so diverse and so customized to their consumers.

If you’re looking at a fully-loaded Wrangler Unlimited, put the Toyota 4Runner on your list. It costs a lot more than the base Wrangler, but is comparable to the upper trims. The 4Runner is also a credible off-road vehicle, but unlike the Wrangler, reviewers say it’s comfortable on-road as well, and can even do family car duty.

2011 The Jeep-Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited offers extreme power with their 3.8L V6 engine, which is a great boost in their off-road performance. Jeep's "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" tag line never held more true than it does participating in an off-road adventure. The machine can be maneuvered through the off-road systems, Command-Trac or Rock-Trac used on 4-wheel drive systems. Command-Trac and Rock-Trac should be used on the lowest traction surface, including ice and wet surfaces, for easy steering. Also, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited features the latest in new technology to keep its driver constantly connected to the outside world.

Other Off-Road SUVs

There are few other off-road SUVs that offer styling as distinctive and off-road abilities as rugged as the Wrangler. The Toyota FJ Cruiser starts at about $3,000 more than the Wrangler. Its quirky looks and rock-crushing off-road skills make it a big hit with reviewers. Just know that you’re not getting a lot of everyday practicality with the FJ either

The most powerful Grand Cherokee, which you can spot in Bulgaria was finished in … Bulgaria. Surprised, ah? And if the turbo was made by the Californians from Vorteh, perfectly installed by the tuners of Overdive, the interior of this flying off-road coach is a pure Bulgarian job. And it smells like a LOT (and) expensive leather.

There are good things to be considered also in the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is very spacious at the back and offers plenty of room, a plus that makes it a great road trip vehicle. Thinking about storage room no one can deny that it is awesome too, and this once again confirms the statement that this is a road trip machine. What is more, I have a killer sound system in the SUV. It was actually decked out by the previous owner who just left it in the car. This sound system not only delivers great bass, but also keeps unbelievably crisp hi-fi sound in the treble scale. Even having that, though, is not at all enough to compensate for the faults it has, and hen I think about t eventually all the money I saved by getting it cheap will soon be wasted for repairs of the shocks, engine, etc. or even only for gas to get it going

JEEP Grand Cherokee is
The most powerful

Roaring noises, are one of the most common sounds a Jeep Grand Cherokee makes from the rear end. As I mentioned before, if roaring noises are heard this should be addressed as soon as possible. Typically around 45 MPH is when sounds will start coming from the rear end. If roaring is heard at all speeds or at parking lot speeds, the problem has progressed. Roaring noises are from worn and pitted bearings.

The thing I want to begin with is the monstrous gas consumption of this SUV. I knew it will not be as for a Ford Fiesta, but getting only 13 miles per gallon is a bit too much for me, and it only makes me think about a shot engine. What comes next it the unsafe rolling of this totally unbalanced clumsy Jeep, along with its impossible shocks. With this 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee you are actually putting your life to the risk of turning over with every turn you make at a speed greater than 20 miles per hour. What I can say for sure is that I should not have rushed into that without having a detailed check on SUVs, which would have showed me what the possible and most common problems might be. And the only reason I skipped that part for was the thrilling price they gave me for the car
