Incorporating what Chrysler has appropriately titled the "Freedom II" package, the Patriot features enhancements that include an additional inch of ride-height over previous models as well as a 27.5-degree approach, a 23-degree brakeover and a 31.4-degree departure angle. With a solid brake system, reduced body roll and the steering decently weighted, the Freedom II package also includes its own continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a ground-hugging 19:1 low ratio for crawling over rocks, stream beds and other uneven surfaces. In addition, the Freedom II comes equipped with genuine Jeep parts that include fog lights, tow hooks, 17-inch all-terrain tires and a full-size spare with an air filtration system.
