The automobile comes standard with a four speed manual transmission, but a four speed automatic transmission can be purchased as an upgrade. Because of the weak engine, the vehicle has excellent fuel efficiency for a non-hybrid car. The car with a manual transmission achieves 27 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway. The vehicle with an automatic transmission gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway.
Chevrolet Aveo lacks in safety features. It does not come equipped with frontal air bags like in its competitors. It lacks both electronic stability and traction control. In case of accidents, the car is likely to get the brunt of the impact. Insurance is probably a must for this car in order to safeguard the owner from incurring great losses in case of accidents.
