The Trail trim is available only in four-wheel drive. Some additional features from the SR5 trim include locking rear differential, Crawl Control (which electronically modulates throttle and brake when ascending or descending hills), off-road oriented tires, a backup camera that displays in the rearview mirror, CFC-free climate control with rear ventilation and air filter, water-resistant upholstery, a sliding rear cargo deck and an upgraded audio system with satellite radio, USB port compatible with an iPod and Bluetooth® capabilities.
While most automakers are converting their truck-based SUVs into smooth-riding crossovers, Toyota is taking a stand with the 2010 4Runner. Redesigned for this year, it stays true to its truck roots. Surprisingly, nearly every reviewer applauds this move. As it turns out, today's market is full of cookie-cutter crossover SUVs but offers few rugged off-roaders.
