For the last year now Volkswagen has had a secret car on that they had been calling the New Midsize Sedan. The only thing that was released about the car were some sketches that only got the public more excited. Last week in Detroit at the North American Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiling the "New Midsize Car" giving it the Passat name. The new 2012 Volkswagen Passat is larger than the previous model and will offer more standard comfort and convenience features than ever before. VW plans to position the new Passat to compete price-wise with other popular family sedans like the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord.
These three engine options should satisfy most drivers' needs. The TDI diesel engine for Volkswagen is one of the most popular on the market for its incredible fuel efficiency ratings of 43 mpg highway. While the 3.6 liter 280 horsepower VR6 should prove to be one of the most powerful engines in the midsize class.
