2011 the all-new Ford Ranger

As the first small truck to feature dual airbags, Ranger has always led the small and mid-sized pickup truck market in safety, and the 2010 model is no exception. Ford has updated the Ranger's safety features for 2010 with disk brakes and side curtain airbags to protect occupants from injury in a side-impact or rollover situation. The Ranger has received a 5 out of 5 driver's side frontal crash rating and a 4 out of 5 passenger's side frontal crash rating from the NHTSA. Ranger also has a 5 out of 5 front side impact rating.

Ranger also symbolises how Ford is leveraging its global product resources more efficiently. Its product development team was headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. The full-range product development facilities at Ford's Melbourne-based Broadmeadows Complex and nearby proving ground facilities in Geelong became an ideal base for the global Ford Ranger team.

"One Ford brought all of our strengths together to create the all-new Ford Ranger," Kuzak said. "When you look at how important compact trucks are around the world, it was the ideal candidate to be our next global product."
