The Chevrolet Equinox and the Ford Escape both have a six speed automatic transmission. But the Equinox has a horsepower of 182, while the Escape falls just a bit shy of that number, with a horsepower of 171. When it comes to safety, both vehicles are well-matched against each other. They both have standard front impact airbags and side impact curtains. Both vehicles have overhead airbags for the first and second row of seats. They both have ABS brakes and an ignition-disabling feature. One outstanding feature that the Equinox has over the Escape is a standard OnStar 12 month system. OnStar provides drivers with an automatic crash response, roadside assistance in and outside of Winnipeg to anywhere in North America, and other helpful features.
The next generation SUV model will be offered in various trims and body styles. The power generated by the 2010 Ford Escape will range between 153 and 161 hp, torque between 136 to 171 pound feet, and the additional capabilities will depend on the trim selected. With high amounts of engine and power capabilities, the next generation model is expected to achieve the fuel economy of 19 to 34 miles per gallon in the city premises, while it may achieve 25 to 31 miles per gallon on the highway roads. Apart from the high power generated by the engine, the 2010 Ford Escape will also be featured with all the high quality interiors and stylish exteriors.
