The Lexus RX 400h Hybrid can definitely hold its own against the competition. J.D. Power and Associates rated it among one of four SUVs for being recognized as part of the Automotive Environmental Index in 2006. This index rates the top thirty vehicles that are environmentally friendly and green. They also recognize the fuel-efficient hybrid as one of the top luxury vehicles for its Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study in 2005. With so many people being concerned about emissions, damage to the ozone layer, and global warming, the Lexus RX 400h Hybrid is a great choice for a hybrid SUV.
The only drastic change that has occurred from the 2009 model to the 2010 Lexus RX350 is that the owner's manual now suggests the use of premium unleaded fuel in the 3.5 Liter V6 engine. If lower grades will be utilized, it is necessary to use ethanol free fuel. The fuel tank is the same as the 2009 model and will accommodate 19.2 gallons, which should deliver a range of nearly 500 miles while traveling on the highway. Another significant difference is the increased weight of the 2010 model over that of the 2009 model, but the engine has proven itself more than capable of handling the extra burden with ease and the fuel economy has not suffered in the process.
